1973: On the advice of her psychiatrist, young Trisha Vonahan returns to her vacant childhood home to exorcise the ghosts of memory and unnamed dread that have tormented her since her older sister Trina's death in a fall thirteen years ago (1960). Instead of finding closure, she has a vision of her sister's ghost and becomes convinced that she was murdered. Using various pretexts, she invites back everyone who was in the house that night, and they come, bringing three innocent bystanders.
